HAVE A GOOD TIME

As Paul Simon would sing, it's...

...not a story for CAT Tracks to be found.

I should simply retire (to bed)...

...but, as you know, CAT Tracks abhors a void.

There have been several spoofs of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, of late...

...of them serenading each other with The Time of My Life, dancing, etc.

Well, sorry, I don't have the computer skills to compete with those presentations.

However, my love of music and proclivity to catty commentary do often merge when I put my mind on autopilot during my morning constitutional.

Speaking of Paul Simon...

...his "Negotiations and Love Songs", a collection of songs from 1971-1986, was playing on my iPod yesterday as I walked the mean streets of Cairo.

The refrain above is from "Still Crazy After All These Years", which would certainly apply to The Donald.

But it was the song prior that caught my attention...

...and damned if it doesn't fit!

So, with apologies to Paul Simon, I am hereby renaming his song Have A Good Time as:

"The Donald's Theme"

Yesterday it was my birthday
I hung one more year on the line
I should be depressed
My life's a mess
But I'm having a good time

I've been loving and loving
And loving
I'm exhausted from loving so well*
I should go to bed
But a voice in my head
Says "Ah, what the hell"

Have a good time

Paranoia strikes deep in the heartland
But I think it's all overdone
Exaggerating this and exaggerating that
They don't have no fun

I don't believe what I read in the papers
They're just out to capture my dime
I ain't worrying
And I ain't scurrying
I'm having a good time

Have a good time

Maybe I'm laughing my way to disaster
Maybe my race has been run
Maybe I'm blind
To the fate of mankind
But what can be done?

So God bless the goods we was given
And God bless the U.S. of A.
And God bless our standard of livin'
Let's keep it that way
And we'll all have a good time

Have a good time

*When Paul wrote those lyrics, society was not ready for the crudeness and rudeness of today.

Sigh...

...the good old days.

In the nasty political climate of today, the word choice should probably be "groping" instead of "loving".

MEOW!

Now, yawn, it's back to bed...
