CAT Tracks for November 14, 2016
REGULAR BOE MEETING...AGENDA PLUS

The Cairo Board of Education held its rescheduled Regular Meeting on Monday, November 14th, at 6 p.m.

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

A few years back, I claimed that I was going to stop doing "minutes", but quickly slipped back into my old routine. However, with the passage of time, my ears, even with hearing aids, have deteriorated even more. The struggle to keep up so that I can accurately report what transpires has simply become too great.

So...

...this time I mean it, no more minutes.

I still plan to attend the meetings and report any district-shattering news...

...but "Examples of Excellence", "Informational", etc., not even going to try.

Tonight's highlights:

  • December's Regular BOE Meeting will be on the 14th instead of the 15th.

  • Superintendent Evers is hearing that HUD will build new housing units rather than trying to refurbish McBride or Elmwood.

  • Closed Session lasted from 6:25 to 9:20.

  • The BOE approved all items on the agenda and adjourned at 9:27 p.m.

POSTSCRIPT: The District used to post the minutes of the BOE meetings on its website, but that ended in March of 2016. However, the BOE packet that CAT receives each month usually includes the official minutes to be approved. Assuming that these continue to be provided, I shall scan them and post them for those who want to know the rest of the story. Yes, they will be a month late, but, better late than never...right?
