ALFIE KOHN: RANKLED BY GRADES

This old dinosaur can't envision such a school without grades.

But, hey, maybe it's what the "students just want to have fun" education world of today needs/demands.

If teachers did not have to be concerned with assigning grades, trying to motivate apathetic students to learn more than they want to learn, then maybe said teachers could give up the good fight, sit on the sidelines as a guide, and let the students do what they wanted, when they wanted, IF indeed they wanted to do anything at all other than play games and/or socialize with their digital devices.

There...

...instead of a 1000-word passionate rant and rave, you have my short if not-so-sweet: "It's just another Saturday morning in my world, so I don't give an effe!". But, hey, notice that in deference to Alfie, I spelled out my disdain and didn't use the letter "F"...

...didn't want to be accused of using grades.

Okay, now it's time for you to read Alfie Kohn's plea for abolishing grades and class rankings...
