'INSURANCE FOR EVERYBODY' |
Guess when I read that quote it was just another example of "fake news"...
...or one of those pesky "alternative facts".
From KFVS TV Channel 12
Congress' analyst: Millions to lose coverage under GOP bill
Critics of GOP health bill get ammunition from budget score
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Bears repeating...
...not having health insurance should not be a choice!
When these "healthy, never gonna be sick, don't need no stinking health insurance" people do go to the hospital, who the hell is going to pay for them when they can't afford to pay it themselves?!
Sadly...
...many of these people are the same people who rant and rave against "the others" who (in their bigoted minds) dominate the welfare rolls (although poor white people actually make up the majority of welfare recipients.)
And another thing...
...many of these new uninsured will not (contrary to what Paul Ryan may claim) be young healthy people who "choose" not to be insured.
Many (most?) of these new uninsured with be the poor and elderly who "choose" to eat and pay their utility bills instead of paying for health insurance. They will also "choose" not to seek preventive medical care or medical treatment when they need it...
...and will "choose" not to take their medications...
...all because they can't afford it.
Scrooge ain't got nuthin' on Paul Ryan and his Republican posse...
"Are there no prisons?"
"Plenty of prisons..."
"And the Union workhouses." demanded Scrooge. "Are they still in operation?"
"Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
"If they would rather die," said Scrooge, "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
...all while giving billionaires tax cuts in the name of making America great again.
Bears repeating...
God bless us (God help us), everyone.
"At this festive season of the year, Mr Scrooge, ... it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the Poor and destitute, who suffer greatly at the present time. Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."
