CAT Tracks for April 21, 2017
CAIRO BOARD OF EDUCATION

Don't deny it!

While reading my captivating accounts of CSD #1 BOE meetings, you have often found yourself wondering, straining to imagine:

"What's it like...

...being in the room where it happens?"

Well, wonder no more...

...here is a glimpse of last night's swearing-in ceremony:

From left to right:

Seated, new Vice President Vernon Stubblefield.

Standing, being sworn in, new President Sheila Nelson, Treasurer Mary Coleman, Secretary Brenda Gooden, newest member Rodney Moore.

Standing next to Mr. Moore is President Pro Tem Gabriel Harris, administering the oath of office.

To the right of Mr. Harris, seated at the table, Superintendent of Schools Andrea Evers, recording secretary Keeshia Carr, and long-time member Arnold Burris.

Not pictured, bearing witness from the cheap seats, First Student representative Rick Foster, CAT President De De O'Shea and CAT Tracks Editor/Reporter/Photographer, Moi!

BTW:

With the recent concern about "fake news", I should state for the record that the picture above has been "doctored"...

...in that it was cropped.

No, I did not do so with the intent of skewing the viewer's impression as to the size of the crowd attending the inauguration, it was simply to get rid of chairs, coats, the great outdoors, and other items distracting from the event itself.

But, I have to confess...

...my catty nature caused me not to exclude the warming/serving containers behind Mr. Stubblefield. I mean, I have frequently mentioned the BOE's propensity to eat during their meetings (often while attendees cool their heels in the hallway during closed session.)

No, the serving containers were not photoshopped in, they simply were not cropped out.

Just keeping it real...
