More rain in the forecast adds to woes in flooded Midwest

The City of Cairo did close the 8th Street flood gate at the Ohio River levee yesterday, not an unusual event this time of year.

The other is still open as of this morning.

I had driven through on Monday and the water was high (46R), but still several feet below the road.

Then, again, the Ohio River was at 31F about a week ago.
