HUD WAIVES 120-DAY WINDOW |
From KFVS TV Channel 12
Cairo, IL residents continues preparations to move after HUD waives 120-day window
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Secretary Ben Carson:
Really?
Dear Ben:
After decades of neglect and/or malfeasance by both Democratic and Republican administrations...
...and your "dying community" dismissal of Cairo...
...coupled with your past condemnation of poor people everywhere as being to blame for their lowly status, that they simply have the wrong "state of mind" and need to suck it up and strive to be better...
...well excuse the hell out of me for believing that you plan to do a damn thing of a constructive nature.
Nooooooooo...
...you will smile for the camera, make conscience-soothing pep talks to your rich friends, and carry out the budget-slashing agenda of your President.
Gotta raise billions to build that "big beautiful wall"...
...can't be spending a few million to provide decent housing IN Cairo for people whose repeated complaints to HUD were ignored.
HUD officials bear ultimate responsibility for what has happened in Cairo public housing. They "signed off" on whatever happened to the money allegedly pocketed by local parties. HUD officials abandoned the people in the projects...
...to battle mold, roaches, and rats on their own.
It's time that HUD paid for their neglect...
...they should not be allowed to simply bury the problem by making the victims go away...
...putting the final nail in the coffin of the city in the process.
