CAIRO BOIL WATER ORDER EXTENDED |
Breaking news...
This is an important message from Illinois American Water. The boil water order issued in your area on Tuesday, June 5 has been extended.
The critical improvements to the water distribution system took longer than expected. The work is now complete and water testing is underway. We expect to be able to lift the boil water order tomorrow. WE WILL CALL YOU when the boil water order has been lifted.
Until then, you should bring your water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. This boil water order is issued in accordance with Illinois EPA regulations. Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil water order must be issued as a precaution to protect customers. Information is also available via our online alerts at www.illinoisamwater.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
