Illinois just passed an overhaul of school funding that included giving districts the ability to stop requiring physical education (despite rising obesity nationwide) and driver's education (a life or death skill)...
...but is now mandating financial literacy (balancing a checkbook and saving money).
Hmmm...
...maybe somebody out there thinks that Illinois' next generation of lawmakers and governors will be able to write and pass a state budget, pay the state's bills, solve the pension crisis, etc.
Yeah, well, good luck with that...
