FOOTNOTE: If you have been dying to attend a school board meeting, there will be an empty seat for you this Thursday night (and every 3rd Thursday of the month thereafter)...

...because I am calling it quits. Having only missed a handful of meetings during the decade since my retirement, I have decided that enough is enough. My inability to hear has simply become too frustrating.

But, have no fear...

...due to the unfailing loyalty of CAT President De De O'Shea, the monthly reports will continue!

As with this edition, De De will keep giving me the BOE packet prior to the meetings for scanning and posting. She will attend the meetings and e-mail me afterwards with anything worthy of a CAT's curiosity.

To mark the end of close to 40 years of attending school board meetings (both regular and special, not to mention negotiations sessions), I would like to quote a dearly departed colleague, Ola Grigsby, whose entire speech in accepting her retirement honors was three words:

"It's been real."
