CAT President's Report:

Called to order at 6 p.m.

Members present: Stubblefield, Nelson, Gooden, Coleman, Harris, Moore. The District's attorney, Shane Jones, Janice Blake, Dr. Evers, and Dr. Rice were also present.

Steven Tarver and Marcella Woodson spoke to the board about a community garden project. Mr. Tarver also spoke about a film program-media arts program that he wants to start.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:27 p.m. (CJSHS Principal Lisa Thomas was called into closed session about 10 minutes later and stayed about 20 minutes.)

The BOE voted to exit closed session at 8:15 p.m.

Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education:

• Adopt resolution affirming non-renewal of the employment contract of Dr. Lisa Thomas as CJSHS Principal.

• Approved the resignation of JeAnna Horman-Nance.

• Hired Rebecca Koenig as art teacher.

• Approved Items 3-7.

• There will be a drive-thru 8th Grade graduation on June 6th from 10-11 a.m. at Cairo Junior/Senior High school.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 8:45 p.m.
