CAT Tracks for August 5, 2020
THE NEON LIGHTS ARE BRIGHT

So sang the Drifters about Broadway back in 1963.

Well, forget Broadway!

They'd change their tune, well, their lyrics, if they drove by Cairo Junior/Senior High School at night in 2020.

Since I don't get out at much anymore (does anybody?), especially at night...

...it took a picture from an ace CAT Tracks reporter to pique this old CAT's curiosity.

So, at 3 a.m. I get in my car and drive up to the CJSHS building and lo and behold, my tipster was right when he said "It glows!":

CAT Tracks Editor's Less Catty Commentary:

Yes, I know I was a tad negative yesterday about the CJSHS extreme makeover. I was in a good mood, so I don't know what prompted my outburst. Maybe it was just a "window" into my damaged psyche, a PTSD flashback.

Whatever!

Anyway...

I really like what they have done to the gymnasium facade and the neon CAIRO is a nice touch, the piece de resistance.

Okay, I guess I haven't recovered completely, because I gotta add (subtract?)...

...if they would just paint over the words of motivation scrawled on walls at the "pod entrance", I'd give the makeover five stars!

Okay, folks, time for a CAT nap...
